Thursday, December 16th, 2010 Little Heroes Foundation sponsors HopeKids annual Christmas party

Smiles were brought to the faces of 120 courageous children and their families at HopeKids’ annual Christmas party on Tuesday.

Little Heroes Foundation supported and sponsored the event at Noah’s Reception Center in South Jordan.

“We were so grateful to play a role in bringing Christmas cheer to these families this year,” said Katie Iroz, executive director of Little Heroes Foundation. “We are proud to provide grants to organizations such as HopeKids who operate solely to bring hope to children suffering from life-threatening illnesses.”

More than 550 people were in attendance, including 120 HopeKids and their families. Brave children, who battle endlessly against the daily torments of fatal diseases, were able to forget their cares on Tuesday night as they met Santa and enjoyed Christmas activities and crafts. Guests were entertained by the antics and humor of Marcus the Funny Man.

By the generous donations of Dominos Pizza, Magleby’s Grill, Frito-Lay, Southern Baptist Disaster Relief and Smith’s Marketplace, HopeKids was able to provide dinner to all its guests.

Companies such as Nature’s Sunshine Products, Amara Day Spa, and Elase Academy donated gifts and their time to help volunteer at the event. The contributions of these organizations made it possible for every HopeKid to receive a gift. In addition, Little Heroes Foundation provided every family a gift basket.

“The Christmas party for HopeKids turned out to be a wonderful experience for everyone involved,” Iroz said. “The families were overjoyed by the generosity of the event, and the volunteers loved every minute of working to make sure the families had a positive experience.”

HopeKids is a nonprofit organization that provides ongoing events and activities and a powerful, unique support community for children with cancer and other life-threatening medical conditions. Their mission is to surround these remarkable children and their families with the message that hope can be a powerful medicine.
